OAK POND GUN DOGS
Advanced Retriever Training
What is meant by advanced retriever training? Let's say you are out duck hunting and because you are a decent shot you get a double to start your day off fast. The first duck is down, stone dead but the second duck has just been winged a sails off into the tules. As luck would have it the dead duck is right in front of the blind and the wounded one is 100 yards for to the side in the marsh. You are going to need a dog that can retrieve to wounded duck first and then get the dead one after a successful first retrieve. This is just one example. I will work with your dog to get him to the point of handling using whistle commands and handcasts. If this is not necessary for your style, again, we will devise a training program that fits your needs and gets your new hunting partner trained to the level that you desire.
Timetables for this type of training will again depend on the individual dog. This is your dog so it will be your input and your goals for him that will determine the the training program we put him on.
At your request we will do the following:
Force Fetch Collar condition Whistle Train Hand Signals Water Force Land Force
These are a few of the main services offered. By combining the above your dog will be a very good hunting companion and if the talent is in his blood you may have a solid Hunt Test competitor on your hands. Dogs are trained by themselves in many different situations to ensure that they can adapt to many hunting situations. There will also be times when they are trained in a group so they can learn to honor and work with other dogs. Training bumpers, Deadfowl Trainers and both live and dead birds will be used in training. No two dogs are the same so your goals and your dogs ability will determine the training program that I will set up for your newest hunting partner.
